Mission Statement

Mission Statement for Adventure Ink Bookstore and the Books in the Woods

In addition to providing a wide range of books curated with the interests of the local community and visitors in mind, the goal at Adventure Ink Bookstore is to provide quality products that are made with respect to environmental impact and fair labor practices. We require a mission statement from all of the merchandise vendors we associate with to ensure the distributors respect our values and the values of our customers. Our carbon footprint matters to us as does respecting the rights of the workers who make the products we sell. We promise to do our due diligence in regard to ethical considerations, and although we may not always be perfect, we will do our best.

Books in the Woods is a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote literature and education through our annual book fair, engage with the local schools and mountain communities, put on educational and nature-based events, and promote literacy.

The bookstore and office are in the same location, allowing us the opportunity to work closely together on literary events and environmental workshops. Our purpose is to serve the community by promoting the joys of reading and providing a meeting place for those interested in connecting with others through our clubs and group meetings. Our crafting, foraging, and gardening workshops will allow us to present educational events that will benefit the mountain communities.
