Meet SoCal Local Writer & Photographer Chuck Graham
Freelance writer and photographer Chuck Graham has been a city beach lifeguard for 31 years and has led kayak tours at the Channel Islands National Park since 1998. His work has appeared in Backpacker, BBC Wildlife Magazine, National Geographic, Men’s Journal, Natural History, American Forests, High Country News, and Westways.

His award-winning book, Carrizo Plain, Where the Mountains Meet the Grasslands, was released in January 2021.

His newest book, Paddling into a Natural Balance, Stories of Kayaking and Conservation around Channel Islands National Park, was published in November 2023.

Meet Holly S. Lohuis, a marine biologist, marine educator, and naturalist in the Santa Barbara area. She works for various organizations, including Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ocean Futures Society, Santa Barbara Maritime Museum’s Ocean Connections, Island Packers, a boat concessionaire to the Channel Islands National Park, and The Ritz-Carlton Barcara’s Jean-Michel Cousteau Ambassadors of the Environment program. Throughout her work, Holly shares important ecological facts on why ocean health is critical for the sustainability of our water planet.

Holly has appeared in many of Jean-Michel Cousteau’s documentaries, including co-star of an IMAX film, ‘Secret Ocean 3D, launched in 2015. She is also featured as a diver and on camera biologist in the eleven hours of the PBS series, “Jean-Michel Cousteau Ocean Adventures.
